the cat that walked by herself

Such a funny month with all sorts of highs and lows. It's part of nature, changes are good to keep you on your toes and of course: you have to take the rough with the smooth etc. Hm...Well, part of the good news today is that a book I ordered about a month and a half ago from the local & very sparsely stocked library seemed to have turned up and I'm VERY happy about that. I'll be going to express my thanks in person to them nice librarians as soon as I can transform from crazy-oufits-you-wear-indoors to attires-you-wear-in-environments-to-interact-with-people :)

Sweet dear blossom!

the weather is bonny-bonny and super duper nice at the moment

mother nature is offering colour therapy left, right and center

a gentler* method

which is also pretty effective

* as an alternative to trepanning, yes?

Living on land

Hope you all have had a lovely weekend. And for those of you who have been hoping Them Elks should do a bit more creative updates, I truly "feel" and "sympathize" with you.

Last week included a fair few April showers and I discovered that almost all of my trainer/canvas shoes take in far too much water for any non-amphibian creature comforts. Three days have been spent in what feels like 85 million shops trying find the Ultimate Nice Shoe= kind of sensible enough for urban everyday walks but that still works with a skirt and also be light and half slippy so that they can function for Lindy Hop turns. Surely not too much to ask, eh ? Hm well, the casual perusal with a occasional purchase is fairly pleasant but trawling shops for that one thing you need to get I'm soo not a fan of. Anyways, life can now return to "normal" after finally deciding on a very white pair of Fred Perry's (Kalypso). After tonight's little boogie and bus ride home though I have had to fish out the chalk...if I carry on like this there's a chance I might turn into Paulie Walnuts.

Step right up folks!
Hoochie-coochie, jumping hot dogs and singing cats!
Press play now!

...and it's also the first short animation were Mickey speaks!

For the last week there's been a Fun Fair in the neighbouring park. Three more days to go with stupid sound systems blaring idiotic Eurotrash "music" and ridiculous shout-outs that are heard inside the flat. I'm drowning it out with the radio on extra loud but it gets a little tiresome after several days in a row. How I wish they were a little more like Mickey's gang above...

så går en dag ifrån vårt liv

the whole daisy freshness thing didn't happen, I woke up feeling slightly off-kilter and it kind of stayed that way but laah-di-dah, lah-di-daaah, eh?

anyhoo...trees are lovely

the branches grow on and further and higher

side by side in all shapes & forms and this I like

Paper Animals by Andrew Mockett

I am crazy tired tonight and the plan was to go to bed pronto but I started going through photos in my phone and found one from the other nite when Kerry and I passed by the Rebecca Hossack window on Charlotte Street. Anyways, here you are and off I go...
Hope to see you tomorrow -fresh as a daisy! :)

Happy Easter!

yes, yes somewhat belated greetings to you all!
I hope you've had a smashing weekend.

Them Elk's Easter has been a bundle of laughs all through

a dash of Easter decorations in form of tiny chicken,
postcard from grandmother and liquid gifts from
them uber-generous house guests from Scotland

Yup, we have lived well these last days
thanks to a veritable social whirlwind
with lovely friends, good food and drinks.
More of this type of thing, please! :)

Are you a mystical person? Absolutely.

*throwing hat in the air* dues to Hillbilly!

Yes, you can safely bet that Them Elks are very much looking forward to the 28th of April!

"There didn’t seem to be any general consensus among my listeners. Some people preferred my first period songs. Some, the second. Some, the Christian period. Some, the post Colombian. Some, the Pre-Raphaelite. Some people prefer my songs from the nineties. I see that my audience now doesn’t particular care what period the songs are from. They feel style and substance in a more visceral way and let it go at that. Images don’t hang anybody up. Like if there’s an astrologer with a criminal record in one of my songs it’s not going to make anybody wonder if the human race is doomed. Images are taken at face value and it kind of freed me up."

Just around the corner part 4

oh yes, the animal & park theme continues :)

this time with a very happy guy called Troy

Troy possessed a wonderful ragged charm and knew how to rope you
into a never ending game of Fetch-the-well-worn-tennis-ball

Benhästen & I took turns to shoot the ball
Troy went off and came back before the blink of an eye
cue plenty of laughter, wagging of tails and Good Boy!'s

when eventually Troy's master decided it was home time,
we said our toodle-loo's, and then they disappeared into the sunset

Just around the corner part 3

I'm hoping you all had a very good weekend with plenty of sunshine both inside & outside, I went on a few walks and spent very little time in front of the computer, I do like springtime.

and what better way to start the week than colourful birdies

or if that doesn't do it for you how about this little cutie?

...pretty little mini-deers all in a row
surely that's a well known nursery rhyme?

just around the corner part 2

more news worthy items:

awake and alive!

pink and wonderful!

yes again!

sparkling in the sun!

blue skies!

when leaving the secret garden we bumped into small cat
he didn't care for greetings, nor being photographed
-hence the blurriness and shifty eyes

just around the corner part 1

breaking news from OUTSIDE:

these guys look like they're firmly placed on the ground
but they sounded very much like they were above

lots of sweet new flowers

and some pretty old ones

them trees have just had the cutest baby leaves

lovely yellow (and slightly poisonous) pond friends

albino daffodils!

lush floppy green leaves that look like they're
filled with more chlorophyll than starch

real violet violets!

yes that was quite a lot to take in, so why don't you take a pew?
...there's plenty more to come tomorrow :)

April April

It's a new month, the sun is shining and the air is much warmer!

All them things are good. If anyone's looking for me - I'll be outside.
